Mi Para Ti Reviews
Reviewer: Doc McCoy, radio deejay, Northern California
John Michael has done an extraordinary job with this cd. It is masterfully
done, a beautiful album. This cd just never leaves me, I love putting
it on and having it as a background to my day or evening activities, or
just as a way to relax...it is light, easy, inspiring and energetic. I
recommend it highly.

John Michael's MI PARA TI is indeed a "Pleasant Surprise" (Track 2). From
the subtle Latin nuances of "Midnight Samba" (Track 11) to the good-times
Hammond B3 sounds surfacing throughout the playlist, this CD makes for
easy listening. But with punchy, provocative tunes like "Off the Ground"
(Track 14) and "Take me Away" (Track 4), it's impossible to sit still
for long. The interplay of John's skill as a composer and musician, and
his MIDI mastery results in what I think are the freshest, most interesting
picks on this CD: "Lit" (Track 10) and "Cruise" (Track 16). Another pleasant
surprise: His playfulness and gift for timing make these and other numbers,
including "All the Time in the World" (Track 6), quite danceable. For
my part, the unaccompanied songs "After the Mask" (Track 5) and, my favorite,
"Devotion" (Track 15), establish John Michael as an adept artist whose
guitar playing stands on its own.
